What a community really is.

According to dictionary.com, a community is a social group of any size whose members reside in a specific locality, share government, and often have a common cultural and historical heritage. There are many types of communities and many people belong to different or multiple communities. Communities form as a result of sharing common beliefs and values with specific people. When you relate to others, you tend to associate with those people more often than others. I belong to a community within my family, we all share common culture and historical heritage. My whole family is very close with one another and we all reside in a very similar location. We all have the same beliefs and values, which helps us to get along very well, and that makes us stand within our own community. In class we talked about communities and learned about some within the screen plays we watched. In the movie the Crucible which took place in Salem, Massachusetts, the community  was very similar to those that still exist today. All the members of the community in Salem shared common beliefs and based their community off trust. Trust can be very important and a key factor in the process of becoming close with a specific group of people. It can help you relate to one another very easily. My family members and I have all learned to trust one another and it has let us become closer with each other.
