The American Reality Compared To The American Dream

In class we have learned many things about the American Dream. We have learned what people believe the American Dream to be and how their beliefs shaped the way our country was presented over the years. In reality, the American Dream isn't really portrayed the same way that it was portrayed earlier in American History. People have thought that coming to America could be the greatest thing for their lives and that everyone would be treated equally with the same amount of respect. Even though that belief can be applied to some of the American population, it isn't applied to all. People were treated unfair and their thoughts about the American Dream were found out to be incorrect. Overall i think that the American Dream doesn't relate the the American Reality very closely at all, people expected their lives in America to be exactly what it was portrayed as in The American Dream. That wasn't very true, even though towards the beginning it was closely alike it eventually faded off into a whole other reality.
